Dr. Lisa Cuddy is
played by actress Lisa Edelstein. She is the chief of medicine and
hospital administrator at the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital
in House. We know that she is a very ambitious woman who
graduated medical school at 25 and was "pissed off that she was
second in her class". She became hospital administrator at age 32. She seems to like to stay active (she plays tennis and
runs), and as we well know likes to wear professional, yet feminine & sometimes
slightly revealing yet outfits. She is compassionate, and cares a
lot about her patients. She seems to have a guilty conscious, which,
House has admitted, makes her a good boss (or "okay at what you do"
as he put it.)
The Relationship:
We know that Lisa and
Stacy have know each other for many years (At least since before
House's infarction.) The thing that I like about their relationship
is that Stacy allows us to see a different side of Lisa. I enjoy
seeing Lisa interact with someone who isn't directly underneath her,
in a professional sense. They are on a first-name-basis, and it's
nice to hear someone call her Lisa instead of Dr. Cuddy (or just
plain Cuddy! ;>) And even though I decided to call this site
Legal Advice, in the episode "Humpty Dumpty" (ep.#
2.03) Stacy not only provided Lisa with professional counsel, but
friendly support as well. So perhaps the name of the site should be
Beyond Legal Advice! That episode was the inspiration for
this fanlisting. I hope to see some more interesting interaction
between these two before Stacy leaves the show in January.
